About SJWWC

The St. John's Wood Women's Club (SJWWC) is a social and civic non-profit organization that promotes friendship and fellowship through its many activities and social events. We welcome citizens of all nationalities and are dedicated to enhancing the "London Experience" for all our members and their families.

In 1978, 14 women met to form the St. John's Wood Women's Club. We have since grown to more than 450 dynamic members. SJWWC is predominantly an expatriate club, although many of our members are permanent residents in the UK. Most of our members live in the northern sector of London (St. John's Wood, Maida Vale, Swiss Cottage, Hampstead, Belsize Park, Primrose Hill, Marylebone etc), although we have members from all over the greater London area... and in countries around the world.

Currently we sponsor over 20 activities a month, ranging from Golf and Tennis, to Culinary, Country Hikes, Local Travel, Stitchery and much more. These activities are coordinated by member volunteers, and all members are encouraged to sign up for as many activities as they choose each month.

Each month a newsletter is mailed to members and also posted on the website. The newsletter provides information about the General meeting and all the activities available that month, along with general information that may be of interest to members. A weekly Email is sent with current updates on activities, classified ads, and information on public events around London that week. Finally, the club web site captures the newsletter and Email information, provides discussion forums, a directory of members, club calendar and much more.

In addition to monthly activities, there is a general meeting held each month from September through May where we greet newcomers, share our latest adventures and upcoming events, and typically have an interesting guest speaker. We invite you to join us at a General Meeting to see what we are all about. For more information, please contact us at membership@sjwwc.org.
